Watercolours Resort in Cayman was the first 10 storey structure on Seven Miles Beach. It was determined that the ground conditions where poor and as such the building was supported off and combined raft and piled foundation. All suspended floor slabs were post tensioned slabs with maximum spans of 32ft. Lack of vertical regularity and necessary transfer elements brought considerable design challenges given the required seismic and hurricane design parameters
